Grill Cleaning Ideas for July 4th

Grill Cleaning Ideas for July 4th

It’s that time of year, 4th of July, fireworks, parades, family, friends and parties or BBQ’s. Like most people, you probably haven’t cleaned of the grill since Memorial Day, or maybe since Labor Day. There are lots of products on the market to help you with this dreaded chore, but there are also non-toxic ways to clean your grill, and it won’t cost you an arm and a leg. Here are a few options for cleaning your grill this holiday.

Most of these products are available without a trip to the store, so check them out:

Coffee- Pour a full pot of coffee into a tub with your grill racks, full strength is best, and let soak for an hour. Afterwards, scrub the racks off with a good brush, and rinse with warm water.

Vinegar- Good ole vinegar works great to get burnt on food and rust off your grill. Warm up the grill, mix vinegar and water in a spray bottle and then generously spray the grill. Wait about 45 min. and use a steel brush to scrape the rack clean. Vinegar can also be used to clean the outside of a stainless steel grill.

Olive Oil- Use a wire or steel grill brush to get the burnt, larger chunks of food off of the grill. Then, coat the racks with olive oil and use a scraper to get off the remaining pieces of food. After that simply rinse off the grill with water or wipe with a wet rag.

It’s a great idea to brush or spray olive oil on the racks before you cook, it will keep your grill cleaner longer.

Happy Grilling and Happy 4th of July
